I'm not sure about the context of "the heavens" but I would use that to point up in the Sky (Space).

Jesus the Nazorian was asked this very question by some guys who were supposed to be very knowledgable on the scriptures (They obviously never understood the Name of God and much else they read) and his answer was: The Kingdom of Heaven is inside you. I'll stick to that answer.

Where is heaven? Where are "the heavens"? I only ask because I feel the answer a person has to these questions reveals very much about their beliefs.
