Thanks for the poems, winged
These were both excellent. Even a non-poet could find pleasure and wisdom in them. If only I could express truth like that.

Pursuit of Happiness
Thought you could use a lift:
He used to dream ot things he'd do
When grown to be a man,
Beguiling boyhood years away
With many an idle plan.
And now, when grown to be a man,
He knows no greater joy
Than dreaming of the things he'd do
If still he were a boy. By Thomas Nunan

Just Try This
If the day looks kinder gloomy,
And your chances purty slim,
If the situation's puzzlin'
An' the prospects awful grim,
An' perplexities keep pressin',
Till all hope is nearly gone,
Just bristle up and grit your teeth,
An' keep on keepin' on. - - Anon

Compiled by James Gilchrist Lawson
One of my favorites.

You're most welcome for the reminder. Thank you for the read and kind comment. It always seems to be the free and simple things involving family and friends that give the most pleasure in life.

Amen, quietguy7
I, too, have suffered from serious depression. Although I never contemplated suicide, I did on occasion feel I would be better off dead. A return to writing, one of the dream careers of my youth, helps me conquer the condition and battle on. Support and understanding from just enough family and friends has also been key. I hope both will continue to be strong pillars of support for you, as well. I also wish you success and contentment with your poetry and blogging. I hope you'll like the neighborhood and stick around for a while.
