Your sentiments are understandable, especially considering the political climate and the cultures you grew up in. I think Resilence's poem represents the spirit of most Americans, that we recognize how fortunate we are in compared to many. With those blessings comes a responsibility to share and reach out to those who have less.
We Americans took risks and worked for the freedom we have, not just globally- but amounst ourselves...within our own borders. Reaching out to others is just an extention of that.

For Confused People
When reading my poems, you have to look deeper than the surface. Mr. Bush is not my father nor am I a fan of his and I think that was pretty rude. However, you are entitled to think whatever you want. The truth is I believe Americans have a responsibility to help others all across the world. I raised over 40,000 dollars for a particular African country plagued by war. There are countries constantly fighting and their freedoms get put on hold. I am a strong proponent for getting these people necessities. Because we are a free nation, I honestly believe we have a duty. I can't help that there are people that abuse that duty like President Bush.

I didn't get that one at all?
Isn't USA the main cause of all the shit happening all over the world? Is Mr. Bush your Father or what?
But any way "Large Hills" .. that was just a perfect poem .. spend your time doing something like that .. take my word for it.
