Neil, I couldn't have said it any better than what angel Troosha did..
Have you, btw, considered writing / working for the UN ?..I'm serious, you're far too talented and knowledgeable not to let humanity, and I don't mean just little blogitville here, benefit from that..may God bless you and create those opportunities for you soon..the world is transforming, and now is as good a time as any to make a lasting positive impact on the myriad of global issues that these myopic-minded politicians simply can't comprehend, let alone empathize and take positive action..I'm appalled at the narrow-mindedness of the Presidential debates, but that's yet another story..never, ever lose hope & always make the best effort ..Best my bro, Ash

Lindo&BlogVillagers:THANX.If we show Human responses to Human Agony, hope's
about to be transformed into transformative action. My Ex was a Palestinian Christian... they have been sidelined in the Middle East except taking an extreme right wing (Fascist/Falengist) position in Lebanon. Yet, we respond to humans as humans for our own sake. As the Nazis lost their humanity when trying to dehumanize Jews-and Jews responded as everyday heroes - our task is to send positive prayers & thoughts of support, while securing Israel in a multilateral world. The USA cannot lead Israel to an obstinate slaughter of eiuther side. Shalom & salaam

Laydi
As an Arab, i am the first to admit that i turn my face away from what has been going on in the Palestenian terretories because i cannot bear to see what is happening.
like many in this part of the world we do not see an end to this suffering in any form or shape be it the road map, the Oslo treaty or anything else. only when we force ourselves to accept that people on both sides of the conflict are humans with the exact needs and the same worth will we begin to find some answers. One would imagine that all the attrocities of the 20th century ( the holocust, Apartheid, the cold war, the ethnic cleansing in Ruwanda and former Yugoslavia) had taught us a lesson : Human rights are not something to be ignored, postponed or shelved for the sake of political convenience or economic interests, after all that is how the great dictators of the world got their break.

I would like to comment profusely on the subject of Israel and Palestine
as it is a subject I am an avid follower of; unfortunately if I go into one now I will lose my happy mode! As I am about to leave for home I will just say, thank you for raising the subject in your usual formidable way; peace and blessings my friend
