Very interesting post! Why teach the Bible? Why not a moral education? My 2 cents!

Gomedome -- American Civil LIberties Union

takes up cases such as this where a constitutional issue exists.

they also have defended the KKK's right to march in Chicago, if you will remember.

I would surmise that the Founding Fathers would be members of the ACLU, and be called anti-Christian.

Xeno-x - not being from the USA, I wasn't quite sure what the ACLU was

when I first came to Blogit.

Reading posts by PastorB, DEMSareEVIL, CCNnews and a few others, I was under the impression that a group had formed in the USA with the sole purpose of harassing Christians. Boy was I surprised to find out that it is the USA equivalent of Canada's human rights commission. These people just don't get it but you can be certain that the self imposed cranial fog would clear the minute that the religion being offered at the cost of taxpayers was one other than Christianity. That ultimately is the issue, in the case you link to; the religious course is an elective, which most advocates of such things want to insist is not usurping the rights of others, but again they don't fully grasp the premise. A government employee, in the teacher of this elective course, is being paid by all taxpayers to promote one specific religion. It really is that simple.
