I would really like to see that. I have always been a gold member and it would be nice to have a blog or two more to work with.

Based on your member profile, it looks like you became a member in December 2004, so the person you are referring to presumably subscribed before then.
As a "thank you" to early members for their support, they currently have a grandfathered account that allows more blogs. This may change in the future; we want to keep everyone happy!
