I don't really remember it but it seemed like when I was growing up
Ohio always had a lot of snow every year.

those scenes are beautiful with the snow, but I guess when you live it, just looking at it makes me cold

I've been through a few of those storms
My favorite was in the early sixties. It was 65 degrees in early January and in less than a week the temps dropped and then the snow began. We ended up with three and a half feet within 36 hours. There was so much snot that we built a sledding ramp down the roof and onto the snow drift that used to be our front yard.
We tunneled from the back door out into the middle of the backyard where we had an under snow secret hideaway, until the snow began to melt and it collapsed.

Great pictures! I don't think I have ever seen so much snow in my life! Even I remember that storm - but only from being told about it. I was in Halifax, Nova Scotia, at the time, and it had dumped everything it had elsewhere before it got to us...

Sally
In my part of the world snow storms – storms that bring the city to a grinding halt – are a rarity but I remember one that we had in ’96. Given we have two or three plows (a city of 100,000+) nothing much was moving but there was a real air of people coming together. People walked, cross-country skied, or out came the four wheel drive vehicles to volunteer for emergency services. The community spirit was remarkable. Decadent me, still wanting to celebrate New Years Eve in style, walked miles into town with my boyfriend at the time in search of bubbly and lobster tails. We found both yet finding a loaf of bread was a challenge. It was a memorable adventure. Even though such storms rarely occur I drive around with a big winter coat and hiking boots in my car and there’s always plenty of water. “B” thinks I’m nuts. Stay warm, my friend!

I remember some storms like that too...........................
Especially when we lived in the Chicago area for 10 years. We were told if we went outside in a T-shirt, we could freeze to death in 15 mins. Of course, I was never stupid enough to do that - I went out nekkid! Oooooooooooooooooooooooh, it hurt so goooood! hahahahaa
I remember some pretty bad ones when I was a kid living right here in Ohio too. We are always prepared.

Ah yes...I remember it well!
We had it in Ontario too. I was home alone with a one month old
baby, who was born during the snowstorm a month earlier. My
husband didn't make it home from work cuz of the weather but thankfully
we still had heat...no electricity though. Your suggestions are
great ones, Sally...gonna go and gather them up to put in the
car! Thanks!
