Sue, where on radio dial? EX-TURPI&ASH, syllables r NOT words but SOUNDS

Let me give an example. Apologies if this is too simple and basic; although accents and dialects can change the syllable count (aluminum versus aluminium, fire&higher&sire are pronounced as one syllable in the west and two in Scotland and in the other countries).

BAD AND QUICK HAIKU SAMPLE:
evening comes softly

silence glows from miles around

fireflies and glow-worms

(c)Neil Deonils, 1-13-2008

EXPLANATION of SYLLABLE COUNTS: 5,7,5

LINE 1 (5 seprate sounds): evening comes softly

evening is TWO sounds in most accents; comes is ONE; soft-ly has TWO syllables

LINE 2 (7 syllables): si-lence (2) + glows (1) + from (1) + Miles (1) + a-round (2)

LINE 3 (5 syllables): fire-flies (2) + and (1) + glow-worms (2)

Hello again my Bro! These are beautifull Bonsai's! And your Haiku's are
wonderfull!! I'm pleased you posted true Haiku work-because I had almost forgotten that I started with the true--then took another pathway--and everything became personal! I will try to return to the true! Thank you my friend and Shalom-from Chris.
