Re: yes most christians do have good hearts

Thank you, quietguy, for your fair and balanced opinion. It was honest and refreshing, I thought!

i agree that the ways we have been built can only b by a power greater than us and trying to comprehend all of the intricacies of our anatomy leaves one somewhat perplexed and the fact that its been proven that the universe is continually expanding means that there was a starting point when everything came into being and i personally find believing in a "big bang" more puzzling than the story presented in genesis and in regards to you mentioning that you are christian jus because of family members and the fact that our founding fathers helped build this country on christain values isnt necessarily the best reason but who is to judge what is but i think until you have experienced your personal salvation and attained your own testimony that you are not truly one but that is jus my take and i really enjoyed reading the post and God bless

Re: GEPRUITT
I seriously "doubt" that your assessment is correct, but I also respect your right to your own opinion.  Thank you for it, and have a great day!

Isn't "Christian Freethinker" a contradictory term?  I am so thankful that my Christianity is not founded on the fact that I was born in the USA, or the assurance that my family and friends may have been Christian.  Those things are the "sinking sand" spoken of in the Scriptures.  Jesus is the Rock, the foundation of Christianity.  A personal faith in Him is what makes a person Christian.  It is unbiblical to think of doubt as a virtue; to the contrary, doubt is always portrayed in the Scriptures as something detrimental to spiritual life. Doubt never builds up; it always destroys.
