I don't know if I'd say "lemming." People are looking for another Bobby

Kennedy moment in the Democratic Party.  An heir to the throne moment.  Obama seems to be giving them that.  He's multicultural, he's handsome, he's smooth, he's intellectual, he's multiethnic.  He is the embodiment of union, and I believe that is his appeal, Corbin.  As I stated, I like the guy myself.  What people don't understand is that a good deal of the Bobby Kennedy, JFK, and MLK romance is cult of personality.  These guys were cut short of their potential.  When most people are given their full run, that romance is missing.  They prove their human-ness and their luminosity fades in comparison to the romantic dream they first symbolized.  I'm more afraid of Obama being set to an unrealistic standard.

In other words, Corbin, people keep looking for a messiah, even a political one.

Doesn't it seem that this whole Obama thing is less a bandwagon and more of a frenzy???  I picture lemmings here for some reason......blindly leaping off a cliff, not for the fictional suicidal urge.....but seeking a new home, a perfect world.

I like Obama, Corbin. He seems more honest and credible (that's a
personal take).  But I'm no more drawn to him than I was before Iowa.  I'm not a bandwagon type.  I liked Edwards going in and I still like Edwards for the Democrats to win the general election.  He may end up Obama's running mate.  But who knows?  There are a few more primaries to go.  We'll see.  Now, on the Republican side, I like Huckabee better than any of the other Republicans except for Ron Paul and John McCain.  Following Huckabee's rise and watching him in interviews, I genuinely like the man.  Whether he would make a better president than Paul or McCain, I have my doubts.  Mitt Romney and Rudy Giuliani, like Hillary, will say whatever they think will get them elected.  And I'm still open for an independent candidate.  Not Bloomberg, but somebody like Chuck Hagel... Put him and Ron Paul on the same ticket and I'll vote for them...

Do you find yourself being drawn to Obama?
If so, why?

If not, why?
