Offy,
I think is somewhat has to do with the position you're interviewing for but it may have to do with the shortage of employees? I would assume H.R department would interview but if it's a small company, well, that could be different. I know when I left my animal hospital after 10 years, I had a stupid little girl doing the interviews after I was gone because there was no one else to do them. So, ya never know. I hope you like the job if you take it. Can't always judge a book by the cover, ya know? And hell, if it sucks, QUIT!

It does make you wonder how long the business is going to be around.
In ten years they will be wearing their jammies for interviews.
A rose and a smile from me and the same from you know who =^..^= woof!

I tell my daughter that all the time she has to put her boobs away and not show so much skin.  well that didnt take long  for you to get a job, that is good especially since you are amongst us mature people, they are usually  looking for the younger version of yourself

I haven't been on an interview for 4 years..
I wouldn't even know where to start!

Offy, When you get the job, remember to smile all the time no matter how
tough it gets. It will give people the impression that: (1) You are friendly and outgoing  (2) Professional (3) you enjoy your work. Now it could also give the same people the impression (1)You are on some serious meds (2)Not to messed with because you are on lunatic fringe (3)Have some information about their personal lives they don't wish to have exposed. Hey! It worked for me LOLIR

What You Wear Matters More Than The Average Mind Knows

I found your blog rather interesting.  As a young person myself, one's attire isn't just about appropriateness or not.  What we wear speaks to our mannerism, our understanding of our surroundings as well as one' general deportment.

We have got to have some standards.  Could it be that those who disregard certain standards are just being rebellious? I would like to see football/soccer players in jackets, long-sleeve and long pants.

What is even of greater importance is the message communicated through our dressing.  Whether we want to accept it or not, what we wear communicates our mood, desires and preferences.  Dress code is another form of non-verbal communication, which like all other forms of communication is susceptible to mis-interpretation.  It therefore behooves us to keep it simple and to always follow the guidelines.

Pat..thanks! Misery is something I don't need!

I wouldn't take that job. You already feel out of place among
those who would be your fellow employees. You'd be asking for misery.

Beautiful Offy you'll probably have a choice of all the jobs and you'll
soon be running the show wherever it is by the sounds of things.

Naut...I plan on taking my time in the decision making process. Tomorrow I have 2 more interviews and the job I really want doesn't interview until later this week...Like I told the girl there I had one of the first lap tops that ever came out...it was as big as a sewing machine and the operation system was in DOS...hahahahaha

Strick Gold...I think if I were you I would have done the same thing. The office is no place for IM'ing or text message or cell phones and if someone were to label me like they did you... I would be highly offended. At this place there are more mature people working there....thank Gawd!

IT is a new generation
I spent the summer working for a doctor who was YOUNGER than me in fact the whole staff was younger than me, and I am not that old. It was a relaxed office so much so that the other three woman that worked in the office were so juvenile that I gave my notice. Though I enjoyed the job I stayed so stressed out with their juvenilke anticts of whispering, spending the day IM'ing each other about me who was cloned (the old hag) and spending the work day on myspace. I was the only one that didnt sit down all day and did any work. It was very stressful so I had to leave. Amm I glad I did

Good Afternoon, Offy hon

You can type 80 words a minute??? I can't even type 80 letters a minute, unless I just keep the key pressed...And yes, people are slobs these days (and 'slobbish', if it wasn't a word, is one now, LOL). I allow myself to be slobbish in my (home) office, but not in other people's!

And be selective in your choice of job! It has to be congenial, and you really want to feel comfortable in a place where you spend a third of your day, more if you just consider the hours you're awake...And finally, best of luck...
