Dinka, fiefighters wear their dept t shirts for serious trolling
I was married before I was a firefighter and still am, long, long after, so that has never been part of my repertoir!
On the other hand, in traditional; settings I would be surrounded by female nurses....(same deal, and glad of it).

hmm, well, i can think of at least one situation where firefighting beats college. It's so much easier for a firefighter to pick up girls than it is for a college boy. i thinks it's that [clearly but not visibly uncomfortable] uniform...

SpitFire, it was a means to an end that didn't work. But it was honorable
and paid OK.
Since the base was thoroughly inspected and the worst people screened out to a degree, we saw very few fires vesus any busy urban station. Every day held that potential for mishap, but hey, we were invincible!
Thanks.

majroj,
Regardless, it takes one hell of a person to be a firefighter for how ever long they are. Not only does it take strength but a LOT of bravery. You should be proud.
