Azur there has to be a special name for that steadfastness.
I think the concept of "hero" parallels the prevalence of "media", be it TV or troubadors. And as I mentioned before, if ther are "heroes" then there have to be "victims" to be "rescued"...sometimes forcing people into archetypes which don't fit.

richinstore, I tend to agree. However...
...there are many instances where no one responds. Or people respond and they become victims too.

Instant heroism gets all the attention
but it is the day in, day out heroism that takes courage.

I think anyone can be a hero. It may be circumstantial and a heroic deed can be done.
