Sociopaths are considered psychologically detached, bpitter,
somehow lacking an emotional or psychological disconnect with the rest of humanity, objectifying everything, including their victims.  So, even though sociopaths only make up approximately 2% of the general population, they are out there.  Michele Anderson may be one, but it's very doubtful.  Her problem seems to be some forrm of alienation, dissatisfaction with her role in life, resentment.  She was more than likely the product of permissiveness and little discipline.  But insane?  No, there are plenty of murders committed without the benefit of insanity.  Cold, maybe.  Calculating, undoubtedly.  Insane, unlikely.  Resentment and getting hers was most likely her rationale.  That isn't insane.  That's human.  Pathetic, but human...

As sad as it may be, Saul_relative,
...so many people do worse in the name of love or no love, or just plain insanity. You can't be in your right frame of mind to do something like that. To kill someone period is the result of a mental breakdown of some sort if you ask me. I'm not a psycologist or anything, but to take a life so easily means that satan has complete control of your faculties or you just had a gigantic mind fart! And I'm not even trying to be funny, but what else can you call it?

Yeah, there's a good reason to kill your parents and brother and his
family, bpitter.  A 29-year-old unloved woman still living on her parents' property.  Wonder how many more women of the same age (not to mention men) feel unloved and live with their parents or on their largesse and want to kill them -- but somehow refrain.  I feel a twisted motive coming on...

This one seemed a no-brainer, mysteria, although you never know, even
when official reports come out, what is true and what is not.  Look at the current options to choose from on Bhutto's assassination(?)...

From what I heard on...
...TV yesterday, it was amount money and the fact that the female felt unloved.

I'm having deja vu...  you are right on with your intuiting.  Too bad we have such tragedy...

Btw...intuition is a curious thing...I see that it seems automatic all the while evolving...

I do recall that incident, Offy. Sad and sickening. The holidays seem to
bring out the worst in some people...

Saul..it seems every holiday there is some horrible murder like this. Do you remember the Zimmerman family out of Arkansas a few years back where the old man picked off all the relatives as they arrived on Christmas Eve?

I just heard of this family today and it is yet again a very sad holiday story...

I suspect the family objected to the daughter's choice of boyfriend and way of life - but to kill the children speaks of a rage beyond all bounds, and possibly the involvement of drugs...

They are more dangerous, bpitter. You can treat or contain a
psychopath or a person of delusion (most of the time), because they are usually quite noticeable in their aberrance.  But simply finding a sociopath can be problematic.  They tend to act normally and can and often do carefully plan and conceal their plans and movements...

Re: You never know, bpitter. Some people are cold, calculating, and more
That, too, is a shame! But you're right. Cold, calculating minds are very dangerous.

scary because they are SANE...

What a shame. There can't possibly be a reasonable excuse for this crime other than

INSANITY!

Maybe she didn't get what she wanted for Christmas.  It doesn't seem like much of a motive is needed for murder these days.
