Re: geri,
I totally hear you and thank you so much for your comment. Yes, it is ususally the same certain bloggers leaving the same so-called comments that have obviously NOT read the post. I have suggested to Shaycom to make it where one cannot comment unless they have actually clicked through to that post. I think that is only fair.

Re: SpitFire70 - I'm a notorious phantom clicker
I don't really write, but love to read. I hate to see the little single words or little rose or animal face left in the comments. Tonight I went to read some comments and all I saw was a cat face, then a rose, then three roses and a star with three more roses and then five stars. I felt bad for the person who had taken the time to really write a post and then have that left on his door step. I may be considered bad, but I block the people who do this. It's not that I have anything to really block them from, but it sure makes me feel better. I hope someone can come up with a good idea to curtail this.

Spitfire and Spitfire, Jr
How are the two of you? Yes I get regular roses from a couple of people. I have not been reading as much lately as I want but I will have more time after the first of the year. But if I go there and click I am going to read. How is that beautiful baby. I like this photo of you that is back now. I wish you and your family a very special 2008.

Re: bpitter,
Glad to help. Just so ya know, though, I don't think the things I explained to you are actually in the "rules." But, they should be! Have a great holiday and I am so glad you are enjoying yourself here!

SpitFire70

Thank you so much. I had no idea and probably should have read the instructions. I didn't join to make money either. I loved the idea of blogging with people who gives you comments on your blogs and the interchange that occurs. I just love it. I've never been on a blog like this before. I used to be a computer geek even but was sick for a couple of years and am just getting back into the swing of things and wouldn't you know it -- everything is completely different:) from when I left.

Thank you kindly again for letting me know the ropes so I don't do those inappropriate things knowingly. Bless you.

Re: bpitter2007,

Well, first off, welcome to Blogit! In short, I'll try to explain a few things for you. "Backdoor" aka "the backdoor sneak" means you really didn't actually click on the post to read it but simply clicked into it via the comment section only and left a "" or some other kind of "comment" or "gesture" to show the writer you were there and read their post when one really didn't. Why some do this (as I tried to briefly explain in this post) is in hopes of a "courtesy return click." It is often common courtesy to return a read or a "click" to others' posts after they have read and commented on yours. I'm sure you've realized that each click you get from others pays you. (Not much to begin with but it will add up after a while if you continue on. You can learn more if you click the help button or go to the Blogit Cafe and ask.) Some of us have been "residents" here for many years (aka "veterans") and we can easily spot the backdoor sneakers. See, you will notice that if you click into the "most recent comments" section, it is in real time. Here's a fake example of what you might find for a backdoor sneaker...

Blogger X commenting on Blogger Y's Post at 9:00pm:

Blogger X commenting on Blogger A's Post at 9:01pm:

Blogger X commenting on Blogger B's Post at 9:02pm:

Blogger X commenting on Blogger C's Post at 9:02pm:

Blogger X commenting on Blogger D's Post at 9:03pm:

See, it is quite obvious to others that not only do some pretend to read and comment on others' posts but they are caught by others (usually veterans and even some others) that they are NOT in fact reading (clicking) on a post but trying to make the writer think they have.

In fact, there have been many times when someone has written a post talking about something horrible that happened and the backdoor idiot comments a " Fun post!!" or something else totally and obviously inappropriate. These aren't "proper rules" as you questioned. They're just common courtesy gestures and not procedures. Hope this helps you!!

I remember reporting one or two way back when as ROBOTS! (LOL)
For a while I tried to leave a comment on every post I read, but they wound up looking like that due to haste. Now there are a select few who wishe I'd STOP commenting at length.

I'm new ...
... and I don't know what you're talking about. Can you please explain what you mean by "backdoor" and "clicking" and stuff like that. I'm just not familiar at all with these terms and this is the first blog site that I've communicated on. So, please explain so I'm not ignorant of the proper rules here. I just want to make sure I'm following the correct procedures. Thank you so much.

Sir Strat!! You GET IT EXCACTLY!! BTW, I went looking for you the other night to catch up on your posts and I couldn't find you. I may have been drunk or sumptin! I then sent you an email and it came back to me. I was worried you were gone and I had lost you!!

Re: Gomedome,
See, that's one of the problems I'm talking about! Geez. Sometimes, one doesn't have a comment to leave but when it's a constant "spam" of the obvious backdoor, come on now. Especially when you see the same names doing it in several other blogs' comment section, too.  Thanks for stoppin' in. Great to see ya!

Amen, Young Miss.
I mean, what's the point of trying to scarf, what, a farthing for a back door virtual rose? I wonder if they ought to make it so one cannot comment unless he or she actually does click. Or at least not break a penny up into eight pieces when someone says "Great post!" fifty times in the same category.

And BTW, we all know the difference between a back door rose and a language barrier. Come on, folks...

And, oh yeah, great post...

SpitFire70 - I'm a notorious phantom clicker
But through the front door and I only phantom click when I don't feel I have anything to add to the post. I've had a couple of nuisance spammers continuously stopping into my posts, I'm just about ready to block them because it seems there is no other way to get the point across. It's not like they ever come back and read comments posted in response to their spamming.

I am so sorry you broke up with your boy friend and lost your cat, and by the way  ha ha ha ha I am sorry I could not help myself. I have not been to blogit but just a short time and I  get what your saying, I see where people make comments on 20 or 30 post's in like 2 minutes. I was guilty of going to a few posts at first and saying look for spinner just to get some folks looking at my page but after being here for a minute it made me feel stupid, so I no what your talking about, merry christmas and happy new year

I can really relate to your statement that once in a while you just can't think of anything to say.  Also, there are times that I go away after reading without leaving even a rose or anything because I don't want the person to think that I agree with what they are saying, but I also don't want to argue about it.  So, in addition to leaving quite a few comments,  I also read a lot of posts where I don't leave any evidence at all that I have been there.

WOW, shelly!!! Are you serious??
JFC!  See, that's also the exact kinda thing I'm referring to. I mean, come on! Not too obvious right there! Besides, it's one thing to constantly get a benign, repetitive so-called comment..."" or "" but when it's something emotional like your paticular post, OY!

Ariala,
Glad I'm not alone in noticing this kinda thing increasing. I mean, yeah, we've seen it now and then throughout the years but now it just seems like a lot. Good to see you, too!!

hahahaha, good post! Yep, I've seen it too..

recently, I wrote a post about a friend of mine who died in a car accident several years ago...and how I was still upset about it.  I got a comment from a blogger who said, "Nice!"

I'm like WTF?
