I went there before you posted this, my friend. Snopes is in my favorites
list.  Notice that I said "easily verified."  One of the first places I go to see if there is any validity in an e-mail, post, internet rumor, etc...

Hadn't heard about that one, Corbin. Missed it somehow.
That's funny... and easily verified.  You'd think she would have known better than to perpetuate such a falsehood.  Politicians and liars -- synonyms...

Points taken, joab. Look at Bush and his stupid-assed hamhanding of
the Iran intelligence.  It's one thing to want to go to war; it's another to lie to your own people -- twice.  The arrogance of these people, that they beleive they can do whatever they wish, whenever they wish, is astounding...

Yep.....
I miss the days of a historical surplus and accuracy.......kind of like when Hillary claimed she was named after the conqueror of Mt. Everest......except she was born before he did it.......

Cuban Missile Crisis

The extent of our political ignorance is overwhelming.  Like you, I lived through that period and saw how close we were to war.  To call it a "Bay of Pigs" thing is an exercise in stupidity; but that's what I've come to expect from not only the White House, but all of Congress and most of the upcoming electorate.

IMO, treating these matters lightly, reminds me of a the small boy who peed on the electrified fence and found himself trapped by virture of "association"   joab

Yeah, this entire incident is a direct indictment of the limited
knowledge base of most people in the Bush administration...
