What about the monkees?
I always liked their song: Last Train to Clarksville.

Their show was opposite "Gilligan's Island." Sometimes I watched it first run. And then, I watched all the episodes on Saturday morning. The television critics thought that both shows were silly. I thought then and I think now that they provided fun entertainment. Musically, Micky Dolenz's a great musician, comic actor, and comedian who's underrated. Michael Nesmith's a great folksy songwriter with Linda Ronstadt's "Different Drum" and his own haunting pop hit, "Joanne." Davy Jones is a great character actor. Peter Tork was funny.
