Empire and hegemony, katray. Sad as hell, but we've either got to
help lead the world to a more stable, egalitarian plateau or find a way to diplomatically lead with less aggression and dominance.

Good post, Saul; a positive note about the eventual reduction in numbers
...downside, just more of the same - military empire entrenching, resentments growing in the area and elsewhere, lucrative offerings for American investments at the expense of troops and civilians.
