tame rodents --- except for rats

I hate rats.

they are still vermin.

although a ground hog would be tasty.  They have plenty of meat on their bones.

Rabbits, of course -- have eaten both wild and tame, raised tame for meat.

Guinea pigs probably -- never eaten any.  hamsters & gerbils -- just too much trouble to get the meat you need off of them -- only if i'm starving.

and larger birds like pigeons and doves.

goldfish -- yeah -- let them get bigger though, and they can.

since we have cats and a dog around the house that we are somewhat fond of, I would have a problem with them -- now some strange dog or cat that I don't know and have an aversion to . . . probably, but only if I need to.

and any pig that happens my way -- that's all right -- except if it happens to be smarter than I am -- and that is possible.

Well, I love fish :) Both in my aquarium and on my plate. Although I wouldn't eat fish from my aquarium - killing them when they're alive just isn't worth it, eating them if they have died naturally seems unhealthy. But if I'll ever have cichlids I'll surely raise smaller fish to feed them. Does that count?

I wouldn't mind eating birds, rabbits, etc. (then again, the pet birds are usually too small to be worth cooking). Turtles/tortoises would be OK, too.

I'd think twice before eating cats & dogs. And cockroaches. (I have a friend who raises those giant cockroaches both for fun and a beer snack.) But I think it's not out of sentiment, more because it's unfamiliar. (There is an urban legend that the cheap and popular belash is made of stray dog meat thou. I have eaten those.)

cat might be too funky for me---total carnivores, not sure.

I'd never try pitt-bull, since I own two and wuv wuv wuv them, but I'd have no problem trying the little daschund next door with the incessant barking problem--I'd even bake a special bun big enough for it.  Rotten weiner dogs...

But seriously folks, yes I'd try anything but cat or rat.
