Bcause most men are still basically insecure. A man is rquired to go out and "make a name for himself"; whereas a woman is born with the mystery of birth and conception. This gives a woman an awesome power that most men -- tribal or "civilized" -- feel the need to impose restrictions upon. Just IMO. joab
