The cabinets
should have felt stoppers in the corners.  The management should know this.  Hope you get a good nights sleep eventually!

Well, my friend, I am sorry to see you depart. I shall forevermore be grateful for the sonnet turn around in my life. I have so enjoyed your visits to my blog as well as visiting your blog. I know there is an unsettled air about the blog, instead of great writers leaving or being kicked off, our little family should band together to keep ouselves fully supported. Tony if you need a break, I get it! But, to say good-bye, FOREVER, well, my friend, I am not ready for that. I'll take a sonnet any day at sam-444@clearwire.net  SAM

Hi everyone, and thanks.

Yes, that anecdote from Bhaskar is revealing, because it demonstrates the effect of regular noisemakers at night. You lie there unable to relax, waiting for the next thump. I just hope I never have a giant centipede living above me who has to take of his (or her) boots...

In fact, the guy above me does seem to throw boots on the floor every morning.

Hi Tony
There was a man who returned late nights from the office, frustrated. And would take off his shoes and hit it on the floor with a bang. He would do the same with the other too. Upon his neighbours complaining, he decided to rectiy the habit. Returning that night, he banged one shoe on the floor as was his wont, and then remembered. and quitely put the other without banging. The people downfloorcame upstairs and asked this man, Man, when the hell will you bang the other. Do it, so that we can sleep!

My sympathies!
I faced this in Rime, Italy when this happened upstairs.  I tried the broom, and one day went upstairs and rang the doorbell at 3 AM.  A woman dressed to party opened the door and I raved and ranted in my weak Italian.  Next day the porter told me there was a dying man and the woman took care of him.  But, the noise stopped.

That's what broom handles are for.
You tap them on your neighbor's floor
(your ceiling), when it happens they
are keeping reason and manners at bay.
