I enjoyed reading "Angela's Ashes" which is weird since it was such
a sad, miserable story, but knowing he'd overcome it in the end kept me going through the mud and grit. Also liked "'Tis" which is the story after he got to NY and began to sew a few wild oats, etc...  Some of my ancestors came from Ireland and we were brought up with Irish blessings and jokes and the need for gloom.  I know you had to enjoy that evening!
