More than likely, businesses will just pick up and move overseas somewhere so they can continue paying low wages, that's all. They'll find a way to get around fines and levies believe me. They have the power and we need the jobs. It's almost a NO WIN situation for citizens.
At least if they are tagged as illegal aliens, jobs will HAVE TO pay social security and taxes for them, that should be the law. They are NOT following any laws right now so we're not getting the money we should be getting from each and every one of them that needs to go into social security and to the IRS. We can MAKE THEM follow the law if we know who they have working for them. Plus if we're giving them food stamps and other social aides, they NEEDd
We've got to think what is best for the country and not for the companies. We need that money paid into social security so it doesn't dry up. Every working person, citizen or not, should have to pay into social security. And if they stay here long enough to become citizens, then they will be eligible to collect social security when they retire.
To me, it makes sense. But I definitely know how you feel also.

do the trick. Either way, it's still up to the IRS to tax them and the Social Security Administration to make them pay into SS. This is usually done through employers but the employers are hedging every law they can to make a buck, and with no enforcement of SS compliancy regulations, they don't check, don't care. You want to stop illegals from entering the U.S. by the thousands, start fining the hell out of these corporations and companies that hire them. Raid them. Deport the illegals. Jail the criminals. Shut down the businesses for a few weeks. Levy fines. See how long it takes before work for illegals dries up. Then see the flood go down to a manageable stream...
