There is a huge difference between TOS violations...
.. and censorship.  Just because you don't like it, or it's mean, or whatever, doesn't make it a violation.  (must say that our boy didn't know he was in violation... but... there's my little plug... )

Re: superflymom119
If that were completely true you wouldn't be deleting blogs left and right around here today, nor would you ban one person while kid gloving another.  But, seriously, why ask me this question?  You guys are so all powerful and right about EVERY decision you make, what good does my opinion do anyone.  People want to "see" that actions are taken when someone is posting highly offensive material.  Otherwise you look like you aren't acting.  As in the case of Dave, if you had been taking actions up to the point of banning, nobody knew it, now you have a mess on your hands.  Not to mention that his side of the story says otherwise.  Anyway, the main point here is this...  If you want the community of users here to have faith in you and your ability to manage this site, you better do something different than you have been. As of now, even those who are tired of the fray don't necessarily agree with your actions, they simply don't want to see a big blowup over it.  Maybe post a list of bloggers who are on warning, similar to the comment leavers, longest standing blogs, etc...  And along with the names an explanation as to what they did to be placed on warning.  Public probationary status placement could be a way to show action without seeming too hasty.  Unfortunately, whatever you do isn't going to help this issue at hand because it all looks like you shafted Dave and NOW you think about making things different.  If you continue making changes (like the newest seperating of posts and comments into main and interactive) you're going to have to invite him back, maybe on probationary status.  Otherwise, you make the banning appear even more unfair than it already does.  Think about it anyway, lest you further lose control of this situation.

I assume by "public handling" you mean deletion of the relevant blog entries.

We often do not delete the relevant blog entries when sending a notice, since some people consider our decisions arbitrary unless they have seen the blog entries in question.

Would you prefer that we delete them when sending a notice? Or would you prefer something else public such as the person having a "red mark" on their profile (this seems sad to do when there is a good chance they will stop the behavior)?

Re:
Maybe not a suspension immediately, but definitely a public handling of such behavior.  Behavior which is rampant on this site.  Unless, that is, you don't care what the users here think about your willy nilly application of the rules...

We welcome reports of any policy violations so we can evaluate them carefully. However, we do not respond to such reports with information on the action we took.

It sounds like you would like us to suspend this member immediately due to your single report. That is not the procedure we follow.

I concur 1000%...

Hmmm....

Here it comes Blogit.  I could have told you, but the storm of "examples of violations" is about to hit you like a ton of bricks.
