I revere all Faiths, as a brown Christian,& a No-No among avangelicals.YES
there is exaltation is refocussing from "THEM" to "MY FAULTS"...or how could I HAVE done better? It is equally wonderful to see that in our leaders of all walks of life- humility and TRULY RELIGIOUS LIVES in politics as Gandhi and ML KING showed. As you know....we tend to also "respect" those who stubbornly cling to their ideas and even make wars based on them...calling it "principled" and "Loyalty." The world values humility & stubborness, right?
