Well, I can't swear that it's Corvus whathisname but I think from this
distance, any black bird would do.

It has, hasn't it?
Somehow Geronimo just doesn't have the same ring to it.

lol, Zena, I've been using it too.
It has become our rebel yell.

TAPS, thannk you

Its frustrating, the waiting and not knowing if and when Dave is coming back. (note I didn't use it there).

I've no wish to annoy you or anyone, in deference to your wishes, i'll stop acking, but some of his other friends made ackt out, it's jsut part of the grieving process, it's natural.

Zena
This is great.   I especially liked it because it got its message across, and that with no ACKing.  LOL.   We are all using ACK so much that it is beginning to annoy me.  HAHAHAHA

You & I know where they go... or used to, b4 we stole all their refuges

Katray, yep, I had that whole train of "need, seed, weed' going
when I wrote it.  Your poem definitely sparked a crescendo of ideas.

Antonio, Thank you for the Follett
I could use a little light reading. Catch you later.

Fantastic poem, Zena!
Verse fits photo perfectly and matches my vibes about 'need.' Wow!

Well done Zena, I like the imagery and symbolism.

I'm wheeling off into the skies myself...........................................

Hmm, here's a good read!

Like a magician's trick, the scarves out of the sleeve, Chris

which is a cheeky trick that sparks both dismay and wonder

I know, Nautikos, that's what drew me to his blogs in the first place
Fine-feathered friends flocking together. He's definitely a kindred spirit.

Zena
I like 'seeds of non-linear thought' - Dave has a few of those...

Turning in mid-flight, one spiraling mystery

No leader, its direction unknown, except to inborn drives, free-flying, feeding as it flies, on the fly, always in motion.

I like your analogies.  I love Russian dolls. They're called matryoshkas, little mothers, because of the way they nest inside each other.

the collective in 'linear' flight - one voice
sorry i missed your last post last site - but i added this in reply when i read it much later, thinking about the idea of creativity as a gift:
'gift' - like breathing, earthquakes & russian dolls
the first is life, the second you don't know what it will throw up, and the third is a paradox

All based in reality, PatB, the greater part of humanity
The jackdaw flies
higher
can't anybody see
the jackdaw isn't one of us
he's all of us

For that, I'll stand up and salute and say, Jack this blog's for you.  We got your back.  Come back soon.

I liked it, zena.

Somehow I thought the jackdaw was a mythical bird,
a created creature, and then I see they're flying and free, and in a photo too, with eyes of blue, how can that be in a bird flying free, when birds' eyes are brown in this part of town. I like your new blog, title, content and all!  Keep writing!

I know you hate to be serious or er philosophical so I won't
get all dull on you. But, imho, freedom is a state of mind from all kinds of jails, mental and physical.

Zena
Of course not .... I've been called many other variations of it on Blogit too! ~ just ask .Dave.

Zena it feels fantastic to be FREE!  (erm that just sounded that I was in jail or something!) ROFL!

You don't mind if I call you that, since we're long lost sisters, right? Like our other non-identical non-related twin?   Yeah, I liked that one, too. I'm a nutty bird, but a free one.
