lustorlove,
Your daughter must be a very nice young lady. Of course, anyone who is gay probably has to go through bashing in their own family to start off with. They need to find trusting people who they feel comfortable with. Your daughter is probably a person who is very nuturing also. I have many gay friends and I cherish all of them. They do go through a bit of hell in everyday life. I say let them be. To each his own. Just be proud of your daughter.

my daughter has many gay and lesbian friends.  one of her male friends that is gay has other members in the family, I question in my mind why are there so many family members that chose that kind of life style.  and then I question why does my daughter mix with so many of them, most of them are still in high school.  maybe they seek my daughter as she has no prejudice against them and I am sure they have gone thru gay bashing, and parents maybe not realizing or accepting the fact that they are different.  I know when I was growing up we didnt even know we knew gay or lesbian people.

Sorry for the delay in my response. I was on a short trip. First of all we have bigger things to worry about than this, but we are bombarded by stories each day and I just wanted to put my two cents worth in. I am much more left-leaning than most people give me credit for. When it comes to labor issues and abortion I am generally on the left side of the spectrum on these types of issues. I rarely write about them though. Abortion is a personal thing and well, I know some of my bosses read my posts and I can't really write about the labor stuff. I stay in hot water at work for one thing or another and that would not help out. Glad we see eye to eye and at least a few things.

Wow, this is amazing
Did we just find some area that we could agree on?

All in all I think this may be the first post of yours I read that I have to say you got it right .  I'm impressed.

Maybe there is hope for you.

Pat_B,
Those are some great words. To me, it should not even be an issue. We have bigger fish to fry in the world. And I will keep tabs on you as you write your novel in November.

Hiya:)
I have six kids -- all adult by now. Four are straight, two gay. Not one of them is like another, they all have their own interests and preoccupations. I love each of them for their particular qualities and character, and from my perspective they all love and accept one another, "warts" and all. I've researched and pondered and finally decided we are the product of our genetic codes as well as our surroundings and experiences -- and we can't always choose who we love. The heart wants what it wants.
