Hopefully you are getting some sleep now. Fire has scared me for a large part of my life as well. When I was young, an arsonist set fire to back porches, garages, and cars all over my neighborhood for about two months until he was finally caught. One night he set three fires (including a wood pile in my own back yard) all within a hundred yards of my house. I spent many nights lying in bed with my senses on high alert.

Re: tigerprincess
Yes, terrifying is a good word... but, fortunately it's dialed down to anxious now that we are out of the fire's path. The fire that was close to us, the Witch fire, is now 90% contained and has moved away from us substantially. Many homes are still in danger though, so it's not over yet. Yes, I always ask for prayer (by whatever faith or method) and believe as you do, that it works. It worked for my family this time, so we'll just keep sending them out for those in need and those who lost loved ones and their homes or businesses. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment... I love your name, too. :)

Wow. It must be terrifying being out there. Just try to take comfort in the fact that the fires are starting to be contained. I know from personal experince that prayer also helps.

Yes, beauty sleep is what I need these, goodness! lol... fortunately for me, I can sleep once the sun comes up. The house is quiet still and I'm somewhat used to it since I've always been nocturnal. Not that I'm sleeping well yet... but soon. Thank you. :)

Re: richinstore
Unfortunately, I think too many people can understand my fear. So much trauma of all kinds out there, I know I'm not alone. And, I know I'm not the only San
Diegan who can't sleep until the sun comes up... why does fire seem to creep up at night, I wonder? Fortunately for me, I'm a night person and staying up is too easy... but I had JUST gotten on a "normal" schedule, I like that better. I write more at night for some reason... can ya tell?
