thanks jfm for your very considered response - yes i know what you mean by the 'voice', it actually felt to me when i wrote it that i was kind of taking dictation - it came out quite fast and virtually wrote itself, to my surprise - also, to me it's not like anything else i've written so i find the style intriguing and unusual - i'm glad my initial unfamiliarity with it didn't stop me from letting it go the distance

Really like the Voice of this poem
Made me feel i was actually hearing somebody else telling me their story directly. And while I was getting a little impatient thru the middle (ok, where we going), this feeling that someone was actually talking to me, I would, as always, give them my full attention, and listen. I like the juxtaposed theme/story line, but what makes this poem work for me is the vioce that delivers it. 3 thumbs up!
