Morning
I'm a little confused - did you mean to post a poem or were you simply posing a question.  To answer your question, I think child abandonment is unforgivable.  Giving a child up (say, for adoption) is another matter altogether.

Mistaken Identity

Perhaps the parents didn't consider their action as abandonment. HOWEVER...regardless of the circumstance or the parent's perception, if a child feels abandoned, betrayed or dismissed, they have been!  Parents have a duty and obligation to, at minimum, own up to all situations that carelessly or inadvertently have or may impact the children they chose to bring into this world!!  Children's feelings and emotions need to be validated as "real" to them - whether they are warranted or not.  Once they have that empathetic acknowledgement, I believe, some level of healing automatically begins.

Great, but tragic topic to gather feedback on - I look forward to reading your poem

parents who abandon their children are heartless, inconsiderate, uncaring, irresponsible, cruel, ... they are even worse than animals because animals don't abandon their young ones, but rather guide them into adulthood.
