- Go to Seven Guards Go Free In Florida Boot Camp Death
Could be, Soul Builder, and if so, they should at least be held
accountable for negligent manslaughter. The problem is intent here. It is difficult to say, but it is extremely difficult to prove that there is any ill will involved in this case, I'm sure. Professionals following procedure (even if it doesn't look very professional) that resulted in the unforeseen death of a young boy. And trying to revive the boy, I'm sure, contributed to the boy's death, but there is no way these guys could have known that while doing so they were actually stealing the oxygen his body was already starving for. Their actions were unintentionally negligent and its a toss-up as to how to convict (and it all depends, of course, on the laws under which these guys were charged).

I took a second look at the video, they killed the boy, if not with their punishment, with the smelling salts capsules which allowed no oxygen in. Grown men given power over others, use that power be be God!

It doesn't look good, Soul Builder. I don't know the particulars of the
case but that video certainly was condemnatory. I would hate to think that they could pull 12 white people out of a jury pool and all of them be bigotted enough not to hand down at least charges of neglect. It would be hard to use the race angle, especially when at least one of the guards was black. Regardless of race, this boy was still a 14-year-old kid who hadn't done a whole lot wrong in his life. Mistakes do happen, but there is something troubling about that video. If that was normal procedure, then it is a good thing they've shut those camps down...
