Define Addict/alcoholic. Depends how workable the addiction is.

An addict can not give of him/herself fully - a part of that person belongs to the addiction. Best to distance yourself until the person is well on the road to recovery before having any expectations of enjoying a nurturing, loving relationship.

Which is why you should seriously rethink being involved with an alcoholic/addict.
