Cars have virtually no effect on Global Warming, Brian...
But they obviously affect health in other ways. I completely agree with your conclusion.

Rather than reply here, Soul Builder (and Xeno)...
I have posted a new article listing 14 current peer-reviewed studies about Greenland and glacier melting: Misinformation about Greenland Glaciers Exposed. Please check it out. Xeno – you are one to follow up references. I urge you to follow the links in the article. If you are intellectually honest (as I believe you are), you can come to only one conclusion (as I did). Remember, initially, I was one who bought into anthropogenic global warming. THE FACTS changed my mind.

I don't know the effect of the cars on global warming but it is bad for human health. So whatever, it would be wise to decrease producing unhelthy gas.

Put Greenland Glaciers melting in GOOGLE, and read! I have done it!

Re: Xeno & Corbin – please work with me for a bit...
Whew.....I'm glad you're here.....I agree that there is warming....but not as a result of the same reasons the alarmists are claiming........and I'm most concerned because of a misguided political agenda.......our economy could be destroyed.

Xeno & Corbin – please work with me for a bit...

Nobody is denying Global Warming. Simple atmospheric chemistry makes it clear that our atmosphere is a global greenhouse, and that CO2 is one of the significant factors. That much is obvious from Xeno's graph. What is NOT obvious, and what the alarmists are NOT telling you, is that the correlation is reversed. Recent research clearly shows that the major temperature shifts have always preceded the increases in CO2. Right now we don't know why for sure, because our (very good, we thought) understanding was that CO2 was the driving factor. Apparently it is not, at least not on the scale on which we are working.

The temperature increases depicted on Xeno's graph can be completely explained by the variability of our sun. This is fact – NOT conjecture. We presume, therefore, that the increases in CO2 following global temperature increases are due to increased biologic activity, but we don't know this for sure. It's a working hypothesis.

The current very small increase is also fully explained by the sun's activity. I go into it in some detail in the link in my article. Here it is again.

I've got no ax to grind. I spent a year at the South Pole doing the research that Gore and his minions are using. When I returned, we all thought CO2 was the culprit. The difference between myself and a lot of those guys is that I have no ego invested in having put my reputation on the line. I just tell it like it is, and the simple fact is that human activity has virtually no effect on global temperature.

Re: we go to court again?
ROTFL......Only the loonies say that disaster looms......you talk about CO2 and Methane you refuse to acknowledge the biggist source of heat is the Sun. as arGee said the biggest Greenhouse gas is water vapor.......temperatures are up on Mars, Venus......we don't have any SUV's there, duh!   As to methane...are you aware that termites create  more methane than humans, and even the UN reposts that cows are a bigger methane threat from their expelled gases.....

The sad thing is that people like you will be disappointed when it doesn't happen....your ilk has been there before.....Coming Ice Ages were the eminent disasters of the crowd in the 70's...before that it was DDT.....you always have to have a disaster to look forward to....because you're so unhappy with the world around you.

THE ONLY REASON NOT TO REDUCE EMISSIONS
is profits for certain business interests

and these business interests have never been interested in anything but profit anyway

not human health, or working conditions, or the well-being of people or the environment or anything around them.

they have fought, violently in many cases, to oppose steps to keep them from making their profits.

we go to court again?
the bulk of evidence supports Global Warming.

probably about 10% or less that is presented does not.

any courtroom in reality would have to conclude that Global Warming exists.

We have increased amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere.  Human activity produces CO2.

Why do I have to repeat the question over and over and why don't you deniers answer it?

If Global Warming is 100% natural, there is nothing we can do about and disasters loom.

However, if human activity has some effect on Global Warming, there are steps than can be taken to mitigate (although it is too late to stop many of the effects)>

Now, which position is best:  that there is nothing you can do about it or that there is something you can do about it?

And why the hell not take steps to reduce emissions into the atmosphere?

arGee
I know you have written many posts on the subject with numerous sources that have a differing opinion from the Chicken Little crowd that Xeno is such a fine representative supporter........how do you keep your demeanor when you are dealing with people that will not accept any other point of view?  That are not even willing to acknowledge it's existence???

Re: CHECK THE LINKS IN MY BLOG

It is ironic that the general public has a misconception about ostriches, in that they do not hide their heads in the sand when frightened. They grub in the sand for bugs to eat, and this has been misinterpreted. When frightened, ostriches run like hell.

Similarly, the general public misunderstands the Global Warming situation. In the larger sense, CO2 does drive the global greenhouse, BUT we do not understand the mechanism very well – certainly not sufficiently well to make policy decisions based upon our knowledge. We do know that the sun is the major factor in the global temperature change we are currently experiencing. What we don't need is people like Al Gore generally frightening people into supporting massive policy changes that stand to hurt us in the long run.

Al Gore can also join the ranks of Yassar Arafat and other idiots the world has been not so blessed with. He is a farce and his winning the prize just shows you any idiot can win..
