Ah, merci, Tattered Knight!  French fries have to be a staple food in most parts of the world by now.  LOL  AmMused.

Re: Poignant and beautiful to read
Good morning, dreamchameleon.  It cannot... for me.  This came about because my husband and I were at a diner and, really, all you could smell was the grease from the french fryer.  The waitress looked, dead on her feet and terribly disillusioned.  The stories on the news for a long time were about the economically depressed farmers and how they were leaving family farms because they couldn't make a go of it.  I reached back to my own sadness at some points in my life and this was the result.  Glad you enjoyed it.  I wrote it as a tribute to all those of us who give up our dreams in one way or another to do the "right" thing.  I'm at a stage in my life where I am busy taking mine back!  LOL  AmMused

Re: hello
Good morning, MaxCohen from Israel!  I love the change of seasons we have here in my part of Canada.  But... sometimes I miss the warmth of the summer sun; especially when it's been 40 below for a week and the snow is three feet deep everywhere.  LOL  AmMused.

So much joy, so many tears; elation, sorrow, triumph, 'failure'(i.e. momentary challenges). All of the endless waves upon the sea of life. Thank you for this intimate peek into the story of your life. Moon

Poignant and beautiful to read
The smell of French fries and grease, eliciting such verse... it cannot be a bad thing.

hello

a moving poem, I always appreciate writers who can write about a very hard situation they are in without becoming too sentimental.

It's amazing you mentioned snow.  I live in Jerusalem, Israel.  Today I went for a hike through the desert near the Dead Sea, there was no sign of snow there.

What a great poem telling us about your life.  My heart goes out to you, but I see you're making the best of it.

Happy Halloween.  My grandchildren are always so excited about it.  We have a lot of fun. Hope you do too.
