My brother used to go to school with a son of a Venezuelan ambassador.

Other than it's in Opec and in South America and Hugo Chavez is president, I don't know too much about the country.  I would hope it was a little bit better off financially than most, considering its huge oil reserve, but, since the oil is nationalized, I'd say that the country is probably extremely imoverished, like Mexico...

Speaking of Venezuela, it is getting just crazy down there... My mother's best friend and her husband live in Venezuela (oil company has them there) and the stories I hear... Just ugh.
