That is definitely true, I'm sure, Naut, yet frustratingly unprovable...

In answer to your question, I suspect far more than we know of...

Yeah, his personal history puts him as a loner and a strange one. I, for
one, am glad he moved to the Middle East (or Pakistan or wherever), because he surely would have walked into a crowded building one day and shot a bunch of people if he'd stayed in the U.S.  We have enough of that already...

Gadahn was a bigshot a couple of years ago, got put in a bunch of

documentaries, issued a few videotapes, became the "Tokyo Rose" of al Qaeda.  Anyway, he went underground after he was tried in absentia for Treason.  He's now gone to ground in Pakistan somewhere.  He's probably hanging out with his buddy, Osama.  You hear about him occasionally, especially when someone does a peice on American jihadists.  He gets mentioned with Walker and Padilla and few others.  Let's just hope it stays a few...

But here's the scary part, M.:  Just because some of these guys aren't blowing anything up doesn't mean they do not believe in and support the cause of the greater umma...

I think they're just bluffing. If they were capable of pulling off another attack, they almost certainly would have done it by now.

Who's this "Azzam the American", anyway? How come I'd never even heard his name mentioned before this week?

Instead of building newer and larger weapons of mass destruction,
I think mankind should try to get more use out of the ones we have.
