I share your point of view, though some people would say that idealism musn't exist in politics or else you're doomed.

I don't like to argue about the motives that push people into war, nor if war is a necessary thing, because probably the point we have reached there is probably no turning back. 

But I'm still one of those dreamers that believe that violence only creates more violence, and that a true leader is the one that can turn his enemies into friends (or at least get them on his side) without the need to use terror.

I understand what you're saying - but sometimes history produces great leaders who go to war with real enemies... these leaders, and the people who fight for them (in my view), are noble...
