I'd rather not use their napkin, unless its a paper one.

I always fold it and put it beside my plate! And if I drop it, ask for

a clean one. Just as if I had dropped a fork.

Speaking of napkins....... it's about time - more and more restaurants have black napkins for use if you are wearing dark pants. I was in one last night where they asked, once we were seated, if anyone needed one. Another upscale steakhouse I visited automatically placed one in my lap when they seated me. I hate getting up and having lint all over my black pants from a white napkin!

You should probably put it down on the seat in the first place - you never know what's been sitting there...

i always thought it went back on the table by the plate.,,,,,,,,
i never got any funny looks,  dont like the idea, even if they wash napkin, of having it go where my butt was.  lol

Is this so they can clean up the seat?

Thanks for the info ... It may come in handy when I go dine

with the rich and snobbish...until then...I'll just fold it up and leave it by the plate. LOL

Hey, by the way Ms. Manners, does the three-second rule apply to the car
floor as well. Just because of reading your..post...I had to run out and get a breakfast burrito, which by the way isn't too difficult to eat in a car if you close the paper thingy around the bottom as your holding it otherwise when you hit your brakes, or otherwise a 'pig' runs out in front of your car, eveything in the damn thing goes all over your floor! So how about the three second rule in the car, huh?

You're suppose to sit on a dirty napkin? I'm not listening to you anymore!
You are making these things up as you go!

I usually drop mine and MR Manners never picks it up so I  have to request a new one
