OMG I sure understand!  Our Mister Cat has been very needy lately and I know how frustrating that can be.  Because of the snoring husband we sleep in two rooms but Mister Cat sleeps with me... and we've had our struggles about extreme snuggles, meows and such during the night.  He's got a million tricks to wake me up and I've really had to work with him to get him settled down.  What has finally worked is to reward him with praise (he likes 'good boy') when he is doing what I want him to do and a firm 'noooooo' when he isn't.  You might want to take your meow-ey kitty to the vet- there may be something wrong with him that you may not know about.  It's gotta be something!  Good luck.
