Though alone, I was not lonely most of the time. I learnt to live with myself, pursuing what I wanted to do or be, within the material limits set on me. There was no cost attached to building myself within!

I must admit to you that all of this is difficult for me to relate to, though I am not disbelieving you. Though my family was pour by American standards when I was growing up, I was always loved and felt that love and could count on it and on support for whatever I chose to do. I am sad that you did not have such a structure in your early life. You are a very strong person to have survived and conquered.
