Re: Soul_Builer -
I believe that the forgiveness you do works differently. It may be that , by forgiving, you release the memory of the wrong done to you , and you move on feeling better. Thus it releases but cannot affect your attackers self-inflicted bondage. Karma is binding!

Sorry you feel that way. Karma or not, forgiveness is love in action. That's what counts.

Thanks for the visit and comments. I am doing another post on the subject.

This post is Jay's personal statement to them at a time he was attacked. Dealing with invalidation comes next. Forgiveness? They willfully wrote that karma and I cannot Excuse them. Notice I said EXCUSE! I cannot promote myself to God or Jesus and 'unwrite' karma. That science is beyond me! God forgives, I don't know how to. Saying  I FORGIVE YOU  is all 'hot air'.

I bought that book a few years ago but I never actually read it all...
Now that you mentioned it, I might just go back to reading it again.

Maybe its just me, but I don't need to tell a person who may be invalidating me all this "stuff". I need to just forgive them and move on. It takes no more effort then that.

THe way I see it, if they leave me alone..that's fine. Then I can live wholly in my world without  even a cursory glance in their direction. The moment they attack me with power or intimidation or invalidation, extracting my attention to 'butcher' it, I give them attention of a kind they loathe. And this doesn't build them!

To my way of fighting evil, Soul, I think there is no direct way.
In fact, humanity needs to be taught that if you can wholeheartedly concentrate all those things that elevate the spirits, you automatically dilute the powers of Evil. The priests and the politicians have an investment in spreading evil, and in making one feel guilty and sinners. Then they can command power over you. Therefore, the more you focus on evil, the more power you asssign to it. In no way denying that this is an interesting thought, but only that the approach has to be reversed, the goal remaining the same.

Evil's life is spent in conquering people. They use force, violence, manipulation, intimidation and scheming to create or discover weakness they can exploit to devalue you. Then when you are suffering they laugh at you.....ha! ha! ha!. They do it to me everyday. But I live in my soul which sometimes says...enough is enough!

I use that method, not consciously because I am usually a nice guy. However, despite the patience I have, when there is a preponderance of evil in my life,  on the offense, then I say....it's time to rumble!

I will try anything that would work. Typically when I recognize evil I expose it and then try to move as far away from it as possible...so maybe the system you write about would work even better then my own...Good post...

I don't think evil appreciates the pearl of love. Love for them is being PULLED AND TIED OR CAUGHT. They manipulate your attention to achieve this.!

I will use this approach... done my way. Hope it will be easier to understand!

I think you make a good point. Evil's existence is about their parade, their having an audience and them calling the shots. They un-level the playing field to control the good. I guess Mr Carter is fighting back and the attention he gives to them is not for entertainment purposes!

Actually, Quixote is precisely the right model here
As is Myshkin. Love sees the good in all, even in a world of hate and evil.

Soul, Good reading here. I'll have to go get this book now and read it.
As far as battling evil with evil...It's all part of the  Sucking in process. Good read.

An interesting viewpoint indeed - I enjoyed reading this and have to agree
as I believe that unconditional love dissolves evil - recognise it, love it then let it go.  What you pay no attention to will disappear.

It seems to me that Mr. Carter is validating evil by giving it so much of his time and attention and by addressing it directly, not invalidating.   Evil is perverse and would receive with pleasure any attention, even that which would embarrass or pain that which is good.  Evil has no remorse.  It is ruthless.  It would laugh at what Mr. Carter is doing/saying here.

Good points. Jay Carter is different from me in that all he wants to do is get rid of the mechanism of invalidation. No food leads to the weakness and death of evil, he feels. To a point he is right. But evil people are reproducing their own kind too quickly to stem the evil tide. He is very good in his advice of how individuals can deal with other invalidating individuals.

then by showing love, we are being responsible for evil?

posted by jeansaw on August 28, 2007 at 9:28 PM | link to this | reply

if we fight evil with evil , then we become evil,
since we cannot fight evil, then we can only try not to be evil ourselves.  and to those that show evil to us, do we just heap coals on their heads? (that is being kind to them)
