This Intelligence Document is preparaed by deft craftsmen, and we have not seen all the details. It may be inappropriate to make a judgement at this time. Let's listen to Senator Warner who recommends a 5000 reduction of troops by December; Chairman of The Joint Chiefs, Peter Pace who suggests reducing current troop strength by half by middle 2008; and the Chief of the Army who indicates there will be no extension of the tour of duty beyond 15 months. These men are supporters of the President or his appointees. I think there are things we are not being told. Maybe not just yet.

Should the troops be kept until the political situation improves? When will that be? The rattling of the Iraqi Prime minister, just this week, indicates to me he no longer cares for US support. At least, it seems he is plotting how to ask the US to leave. He is probably confident he has supporters of his view.

Both sides of the political debate will use this Document to its advantage. The more popular argument may drive the decision when the troops come home.

Stay well; walk good my friend.
