I've quoted this verse before but your post brings this nugget of Biblical wisdom to the forefront: Owe no man any debt but that of love. That is why our economy is starting to go downhill - people take out loans for mortgages that they can't afford, they get in trouble, and the next thing you know the economy is tanking because everyone is in debt to their eyebrows.
