I'm sorry to unsettle you, Frankenkitty. That was not my intent. However,
I do beleive the better informed we are, the more likely we can prevent our government from making colossal blunders (not that we, the body public, have been all that successful in the past...).

Well, I must admit
that my purposely avoiding information that further aggravates my dissappointment has been working, I still thought your blog was interesting and informative, even if unsettling. Have a great evening

Besides, WriterofLight, the U.S. is doing such a great job knitting the
disparate factions into a cohesive whole, is it not? In fact, we're opposed to both a federated state and a dissolution into three separate autonomous states, so whose to blame now?

Been there, done that, WriterofLight. I have posted several times on the
artificiality of the borders of Trans-Jordan, Iraq, Palestine... But knowing the history doesn't solve the current problems...

If you're cocnerned about who caused what problems in Iraq . . .
Then I suggest you start blasting the parties responsible for establishing Iraq as a nation with such violently opposed factions within one border. Arbitrary drawing of boundaries regardless of potential for violence between factions, sects or tribes suddenly encompassed by them caused tremendous harm, especially in Iraq and Africa.
