You Little Lassie
I loved this story but I want to tell you something. You were 'something special' before you ever came here. It is our blessing you came. You were sharp as a tack first time I read your blog. The truth of the matter is you have a canvas now to paint your something on and show it off. Be blessed.

I was riding along with you throughout the whole blog, and then, whoa!
You end with the sentence that you came to this country to be someone.  That's exactly why I went to Seattle from a tiny village in the Cascades all those years ago.  In new surroundings I could be someone else, not Margaret's daughter from the poorest family in town. I could be a woman with a job, establish myself as someone with potential.  Took a long time to realize that I was always "someone" and the backwoods village experience had formed a lucky and useful foundation for life. Which is to say, it's pretty clear that Cringe is someone -- someone who can get things done, play the hand life deals...

The old blarney works wonders!
Now come on, choose your fave baseball and American football teams. At least you've got daughters, so hubby will be in the minority at home!
