What gives me the ispiration to continue working is that other people believe in my writing.  If you're told you have talent, eventually you're going to believe, right?

You have been busy..:) Determination and belief in your work spurring continued effort..with this formula in place, you can't help but succeed eventually. I find your experiences/insight motivating and helpful. Thank you for sharing them.

That just sucks, word.smith.  But as you say, keep believing in what you wrote and something good must happen. Law of attraction.

I definitely will keep that warning in mind. I've read about some terrible situations. Guess publishing is just another business and people are just as prone to doing dishonest things.

I worked for an internet print-on-demand publisher a few years back. I did
an unpaid internship there.  I edited and reformatted books for three months so they could be published.  After reading those books and a copy of their bestselling thriller, it wasn't a big surprise to me when, for curiousity's sake, I went to their site to publish my first book of poetry and found -- nothing.  You have to be careful, word.smith.  Some of these publishers aren't all they bill themselves to be...
