Wavy isn't giving us the straight story.

Here's the link to the order in its entirety, rather than the excerpt he presented: http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2007/07/20070717-3.html.

Read it through, carefully, as I did. Nowhere did I see any mention of opposition to the war. It is aimed at those who are actively sabotaging the efforts to stabilize Iraq, redevelop its economy, and develop its democracy, and at those who are funding such sabotage.

Now if you want to talk about unjust seizure of private property, quit spinning this into something it isn't and get busy on getting the Kelo decision that makes it legal for municipalities to sieze your property and hand it over to a developer who can generate higher tax revenues than you. Wavy addressed this at http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/CB74/475195, and I hit it at http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/WriterofLight1342/333998 and http://www.blogit.com/Blogs/Blog.aspx/WriterofLight/270309

WavyDavy

Is this order constitutional? What clause in the Constitution permits this? How has Congress responded? I'm glad you've brought this to our attention. I will try and find the answers.

We are a little better off here because we have Gates and not Rumsfield in the mix. Secretary Gates seems a reasonable and sensible man. Then too, if all the other Presidents you cite got away with it, it is probably permitted?

RaeS: Continue speaking out no matter what the consequences and ramifications could be and so will I!  They want us to live in fear and act like sheep!

Chills me to the bone..
I was going to post about this order last week, but didn't..glad you did. People need to be aware of the theft of our liberties; how accelerated the process is becoming. This so called law worries many legal experts because of the intended vagueness of who it applies to, how it will be used and the why's of both. I am anti-war and feel even more uneasy now about speaking out, but I won't be silenced - if taking it to the streets becomes a literal action, so be it.
