....you had me for a minute there, flappergirl.  What a great part II that would have been, for us, the "parents" to have met here on blogit after all these years!  Thanks for the kudo and I'm sure you're right - I can't be the only mother who experienced "situations" in a stinky ball arena!!  Make today a good onehope to see you back soon!!

Re: You should read my post about two brothers who beat up my son and daughter
I am just kidding, I do not have a daughter and son. I have two boys, too. I just love your story. I am sure every mother can relate to the ball pit brawl.

Re: Son's first fight...

Matie - glad to see you back, thanks for the acknowledgement

Nu Guy - welcome and thank you for the positive comment.  "Little Alex" is now 21 years old and he hasn't yet figured out that this story truly depicts the young here in him...someday, he will and will stop blushing/cringing every time he hears it.

Re: I-R William, strat & sheila.....

I-R William - yes, the sibling relationship is an odd dynamic!  My brother used to be my biggest nightmare and my greatest shelter.  Glad you stopped by for a read - hadn't see you before, so I took a few to read your blog - good ol' charming, human stuff and (in my opinion), a feel good write & read!  Look forward to seeing more, hope to see you back, as well!

Strat - Your grandfather sounds like a sound man.  I LOVE IT Glad you related and enjoyed this one from the archives of my heart!  Thank you for the comment!

Sheila - good to see you back again!!!!  And, it was/is a good feeling to know my sons are committed enough to stand up for themselves and each other (and, of course, me) when necessary and appropriate!  Thanks much for taking the time to comment!

One Betty, I can see why you were proud. I felt the same way when my
children stood up for one another or "had each other's back." Theyfought like cats and dogs with each other, but when faced with more than one outsider or a bully, they were a force to be reckoned with.

That's great!
My grandfather used to tell all of us, a long time ago, "If I ever catch you violating someone's rights, I'll beat the hell out of you. But if I catch you letting someone else violated your rights, I'll really beat the hell out of you."

No your not a bad mother... it's just good to know that your boy
can defend himself when needed.
