Careless mistakes can adversely affect written works, especially poetry.
Sonnets and other short poetic pieces should be carefully structured to retain their integrity. I think anyone would agree with this observation. Perhaps we sometimes get excited about presenting
our creations that we overlook little mistakes or imperfections. This problem in "What Mark..." -- as truly good as it is -- contains a few of those gremlins. For example, ... "our are” should be inverted to say "are our". Another problem is the word "were", which was, I believe, intended to be a contraction of "we are"... or “we're”. These pesky typos do not destroy your efforts, but they diminish quality. So keep writing, JMO, because you're good at it... but be careful with the final touches!

JM
I think all of us want to leave a favourable, if not memorable, imprint upon this earth before we leave it. As the saying goes “this is not a dress rehearsal” so why we hold back at times, I’ll never understand. Good thoughts woven together nicely.
