Re: Senator Biden was right
Matie:
Maybe because he has been criticised for being inexperienced in foreing policy, he is trying to prove he will be very tough. That approach, in my opinion, is not the way to prove he can do the job. Yet, Senator Biden's response confirms the hypocrisy of politicians. on the whole.

Senator Biden was right
Obama mistakenly slipped up or maybe he's just bluffing to demonstrate how far he would go?

It is never too late for anything. Those of us who care have to keep making our opinions known; vote; encourage others to vote; and exert influence where and when we can.

Do you think it is still feasible to be rational in this, or have we already gone too far past that to return to it?

Re: Senator Obama And Pakistan
WavyDavy:
It is far from true that no one cared about the UN when the US invaded Irag. Listen to the interviews of former Secretary of State Colin Powell. The Neo Cons was the group that discounted the importance of the UN. It is not a perfect body. No institution is perfect. However, it is the only hope we have of containing the urges of the powerful nations to intimidate the weaker nations. It is the only hope we have of reducing these unjustified wars among nations.
On terror, we should resort to whatever measures necessary to protect the citizens of this country. Yet, we are certainly better off when we respect the rule of law.
Stay well, walk good my friend.

Senator Obama And Pakistan
It's interesting to me that no one seemed to care about the United Nations and international law when we invaded and occupied Iraq. Yet when it comes to Pakistan, all of a sudden, we have to respect the United Nations and the sovereignty of this nation. If the Musharraf government is giving sanctuary to bin Laden and Al-Qaeda, the United States shouldn't be giving military and economic aid to Pakistan. We have to think long and hard about attacking but it shouldn't be ruled out completely. Nothing should be ruled out completely in this war on terrorism. On this point, I agree with Bush. I believe that this is his position. Unlike Obama, you don't announce your intentions publicly before doing something.
